Mike Whitmore Business Bio – December 2013
Mike is the Director of Client Services & Marketing at LG Consulting, a division of The Laurel Group in Seattle, Washington. Mike also serves as the President of the Advisory Board and is a co-founder of Fresh Consulting.
Prior to joining LG Consulting, Mike worked with Apptio, one of Seattle’s fastest growing SaaS enterprise software firms where he worked with Apptio’s top clients in building their practice of Technology Business Management. Prior to his sales career his IT background includes software testing, localization engineering, project and program management and consulting.
As part of his belief in community service Mike serves on two non-profit boards, both focused on students and education. He is a former Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America and currently serves as a Scout Venture leader.
One of the non-profits Mike works with is Work Force Development Center (WFDC) (www.wfdcenter.org). WFDC serves at-risk teens, teaching them valuable, real-world job skills through a sheltered workshop program building critical and non-critical aircraft structures for Boeing Aerospace. During his time as president at WFDC Mike lead an initiative to diversify the client base. Now WFDC works with more than a dozen clients in different industry verticals, serving more than 1,000 students through the program since its inception in 1990.
Mike served two terms as the President of the Seattle Chapter of the BYU Management Society (www.byuwa.org), which raised more than $100,000 per year since 2007 for college scholarships based on academic merit and individual needs. He continues to serve as a producer for upcoming chapter events.
Mike is known for his public speaking and professional business networking skills. He has a strong digital media presence with 100,000+ Twitter followers, and 2,000+ LinkedIn connections. In 2012 his LinkedIn profile ranked in the top 1% of profiles viewed. He has been a guest lecturer on digital media at Brigham Young University, the University of Washington and Bellevue College and he produced several digital media events. Mike’s enjoys training others on effective networking both online and offline combined with sincerity of purpose to improve career opportunities and achieve their career goals.

Prior to Fresh Mike worked with WordPerfect Corporation leading a multinational development team in building the first release of WordPerfect Office in a handful of Germanic languages. His project management and sales leadership continued delivering high-value results for Novell, Intel, Fujitsu, Compuware, AT&T Wireless, QWest, T-Mobile, Boeing Space & Defense, Microsoft and Unisys Corporation.
Mike’s experience in sales resulted in multi-million dollar relationships with major firms in the Pacific Northwest including Boeing, Standard Insurance, Washington Mutual and States of Oregon & Washington. With a reputation for being a Change Agent, he frequently is tapped to turn around at-risk initiatives and relationships and develop sales strategies and teams to exceed objectives. At Comsys he managed a high-tech sales team to become the top gross-margin performing office in the country. With Unisys Mike managed one of the firm’s top BPO relationships valued at over $60 million per year.
Mike graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Business Management and Marketing and a minor in Dutch Literature. Hobbies include biking, hiking, camping, golfing, Scouting and volunteer service. He and his wife of 5 children live in Redmond, Washington.
