I didn’t hop on the Foursquare bus when it made its debut, but as a Yelp user on iPhone I did start using their Check In feature. It was novel and kinda cool and I happily ran into friends when we happened upon each other in the same locations. I made it a habit to check in at the Fresh Consulting office or at my local Starbucks. I’ve become “The Duke” of many locations and found some new places to dine or see when I travel.
But I gotta say, lately I’ve been rather “Meh” about checking in every time I go somewhere.
Badges? I don’t need any more stinkin’ badges! Meh!
Duke of this or mayor of that? Meh!
Coupons, Groupons, Schmoopns? Meh!
I’m not done with Yelping or trying some other geolocation services and I’m liking the concepts supporting the community services that whrrl (http://whrrl.com/) offers. This could be a phenomenon in 2011…
